Founder, Circular Business Consulting
Scot Case, founder of Circular Business Consulting, has worked at the intersection of business and sustainability since the mid-1990s, most recently as VP of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability and Executive Director of the Center for Retail Sustainability at the National Retail Federation (NRF). Over his career he has advised organizations including Walmart, McDonald's, Disney and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and he led NRF's Sustainability Council through the buildout of its retail circularity programming.
Beth Forsberg
SVP and Chief Sustainability Officer, Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona
Beth Forsberg is the SVP and Chief Sustainability Officer at Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA). Beth has spent more than 20 years at Goodwill and now oversees sustainability operations across GCNA, Goodwill Industries of the Monocacy Valley and Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay. She led the development of the first textile sorting and grading program within the Goodwill network, helping establish a foundation for scalable textile recovery and circularity initiatives.
Beth has led extensive work to advance innovative plastics recovery solutions, first through rigid plastics initiatives and more recently through efforts to develop scalable, closed-loop solutions for post-consumer plastic film. Beth previously served as GCNA's VP of Donation Services and Logistics and built the Sustainability Division at Goodwill Industries of San Diego County, including its original curbside collection program. Beth has been advising Textile Recovery Summit's programming since its inception.
Jessica Franken
Vice President of Government and External Affairs, Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles Association (SMART)
Jessica Franken, Vice President of Government and External Affairs at the Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles Association (SMART), brings more than 25 years of experience in government relations, public policy and industry advocacy, including many years representing companies and organizations across the textiles and apparel sector.
A recognized expert in textile circularity and the policy forces reshaping reuse and recycling, Jessica represents SMART before local, state, federal and international governmental bodies, including in ongoing discussions at the Basel Convention and the United Nations Environment Programme. She is also a frequent media contributor on textile policy and circularity.
Chelsea Murtha
Senior Director, Sustainability, American Apparel & Footwear Association
Chelsea Murtha serves as the American Apparel & Footwear Association's (AAFA) advocate and spokesperson on matters of sustainability and product safety. She engages with Congress, the executive branch, independent agencies, as well as state and local legislatures and agencies and foreign governments on sustainability, product safety and chemical management issues important to the industry. Chelsea is also the staff liaison to AAFA’s Environmental Committee and Product Safety Council.
Chelsea is based in Washington, D.C., where she has spent more than 10 years working with trade associations and apparel and footwear brands, manufacturers and retailers to impact and navigate policy developments related to environmental, social and governance issues in global supply chains. She holds a Master of Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts from the George Washington University.
